Tomorrowland Global Journey Review

Inside the Tomorrowland’s Magic: My Unfiltered Global Journey Review

Table of Contents

In this post I’ll tell you all about my own, wild adventure with Global Journey since in July 2023 I went on a journey so epic (and expensive😃) that even my mom questioned my sanity.

Get ready to note, laugh ( and possibly question my life choices ) as we journey through the magical landscape of the Global Journey package review.

Disclaimer: Before we get this started, let me make one thing crystal clear: This review is 100% powered by my own unfiltered opinions. No one’s sliding me any backstage passes, though I’d totally trade a kidney to be sponsored by Tomorrowland. 😂

What Made Me Choose Global Journey?

Since forever, Tomorrowland has been at the top of my bucket list. A shimmering oasis of excitement and wonder that I’ve been daydreaming about since the beginning of time. Year after year, I attempted to secure tickets through the official Tomorrowland website, only to be met with disappointment. It felt like fate itself was conspiring against my dreams and hopes.💔

But in 2023, something shifted within me. I made a promise, a pact with myself—that this year, Tomorrowland would become my reality, no matter the odds! As I navigated the labyrinth of festival options, it became clear: this was it. The missing piece of the puzzle. The golden ticket to my wildest dreams…Global Journey. The idea that I could snag my ticket one week before everyone else even had a chance was like discovering the ultimate cheat code to the festival universe. This was my chance to make my dreams a reality.

I asked my friends if they wanted to buy the Global Journey package with me, but none of them were up for it. They were all waiting to get lucky in the standard ticket release like we all had been doing for the last couple of years. I didn’t want to wait anymore. Tired of trying to convince them, I decided to embrace my inner party pioneer and go solo on the Global Journey. It felt a bit like signing up for a solo mission to Mars, but the call of Tomorrowland was too strong.

watching everyone stressing over tomorrowland tickets while yours is already secured Tomorrowland meme

I wanted the full Tomorrowland experience, including transport with the party so with a touch of madness, a dash of FOMO, and an undeniable YOLO attitude, I made the decision. Global Journey will be my ticket to Tomorrowland magic.

And this, my friends, is just the beginning of the epic adventure.

My Customization

-Dates: 20-24.07.2023 (1st weekend), Thursday to Monday

-Transport: Train (Eurostar), Party option

20.07.2023,  London – Brussels

24.07.2023, Brussels – London

Accommodation:

Ah, the allure of camping at Tomorrowland was undeniable. The idea of dancing under the stars, meeting people from all corners of the world, and soaking in the electric atmosphere was like a siren’s call to my adventurous spirit. But then I remembered my endless love for hot, steamy showers. It’s the only time I can reflect on all the questionable life choices I’ve made while simultaneously contemplating the universe’s mysteries. It’s a delicate process that involves just the right amount of water pressure and existential crisis.

I’ve also done some serious research about ever-unpredictable Belgian weather. I could vividly imagine myself struggling to pitch a tent in the midst of mud while looking like a soggy Yeti.

So, I made a choice. I’ll be embracing the magic of Tomorrowland with both feet planted on solid, waterproof ground of the hostel. I’ve checked all affordable accommodations listed by Tomorrowland and reviewed their ratings on another portal- booking.com. Eventually, I decided on Meininger Gare du Midi (hostel) in Brussels (4 nights). If you want to check it out: Booking.com

How Much Was It?

Ah, the million-dollar question! Or in this case, the thousand-euro question.

Brace yourselves for the answer we all hate – it depends.

Mainly on your customization, as obviously, fancier hotels will be way more expensive than camping or hostels. Also flying from across the world will be pricier than flying from neighbouring countries in Europe. In general, it’s much more expensive than the standard Tomorrowland ticket in regular sale.

My Costs

As for me, I paid 1197 euros.đŸ’¶

Global Journey how much

Pro tip: Pay in their original currency.

If you live somewhere in Europe and have a bank account in euros, no problem. However, if you live outside of the Eurozone and only have bank accounts, for example, in dollars or pounds (like Lloyds, Barclays), you lose around 40 extra pounds/dollars on exchange rates and additional fees. I recommend getting one of the currency accounts (I like Revolut because the basic version is free), however, any other account in euros will work too.

Trust me, your wallet will thank you later. Remember every penny saved is another euro to spend on drinks at Tomorrowland itself!😜

Also, in my hostel, I met some people who got exactly the same package (exactly the same transport and accommodation customization). However, since they bought three tickets at once, it was around 24 euros cheaper for them. Apparently having friends pays off sometimes.

Calculation

Now, let’s talk about Comfort Pass. In the worldwide ticket sale, it’s priced at 624 euros. Considering I paid a total of 1197 euros which includes the comfort pass, that leaves a difference of 573 euros. That seemed a fair price for a 4 nights of accommodation, transport to and from London, shuttles, an additional Tomorrowland party, peace of mind and all the other perks thrown in.

Especially when you consider it less of a cost and more of an investment in your dreams, your happiness and your emotional well-being.😃

If you’re curious about the prices of food and drinks at the festival itself, you’ll find all the juicy details in my main review of Tomorrowland.- HERE ( pretend it’s already written)

But remember, prices are about as predictable as the weather in Belgium – always changing! So, to avoid any financial surprises, I suggest using the official Global Journey price simulator. You can find it here (it’s available closer to the festival)

Now, grab your popcorn and your sense of humour, because in the review below I am about to unravel the mystery of whether Global Journey was a financial flop or a ticket to paradise!

How it Started: A Story of Missing Tickets

The Waiting Game

So I bought my Global Journey package on January 24th shouting to the world: “I’m going to Tomorrowland!!!!! “. I received a confirmation email a few minutes later but then it was radio silence for the next couple of months.

Tomorrowland meme

On June 6th I got another email that my Tomorrowland bracelet (which is basically your ticket to enter Tomorrowland ) was on its way. They gave me a tracking number, but it was like watching paint dry—no updates at all. After a bit of digging, I learned that the bracelets ship closer to the festival date, so there was no need to freak out just yet.

The Invitation and the Panic: July Approaches

Fast forward to July 5th, and I got an email inviting me to the “INVITED” party on the day of arrival. Then on July 10th, I got another email with a new tracking number, and this one actually seemed to work. Yay, progress! July 14th rolled around, and my train tickets showed up, which was a sign that things were getting real. However, at that point, I found myself in a bit of a panic when my bracelet still hadn’t arrived. My tracking number was stuck in Belgium limbo and I had just a few days left till Tomorrowland.đŸ˜±

Naturally, I did what any self-respecting panicker would do—I dove headfirst into the depths of the internet for answers. Turns out, I wasn’t alone in the Great Bracelet Mystery. Many fellow festival-goers were in the same boat, nervously awaiting their own golden tickets. It was like a digital support group for the bracelet-less. Each post was a mix of frustration, anticipation, and a sprinkle of ‘đŸ€ž’ hopeful emojis.

But here’s the thing I found out: even if your bracelet doesn’t make it to your doorstep in time, you can contact the Global Journey team and arrange collection at the counters in Belgium.

The Final Countdown: Bracelet Arrival

Finally, on July 18th, the package with my Tomorrowland bracelet (aka my golden ticket) arrived. Waiting right up until the last moment was stressful AF, but once it finally arrived, the satisfaction was out of this world! I had to activate it online, but thankfully, the instructions were idiot-proof (and trust me, I’m the perfect test subject). Oh, and don’t forget to top it up with some euros, because that’s how you pay for everything at Tomorrowland. I topped it with 130 euros which was equivalent to 76.75 pearls. (Spoiler alert: It wasn’t enough. I ran out by day three and had to reload.đŸ„Č)

With my bracelet finally in hand, the countdown to the greatest adventure of my life began—a mere two days away from the euphoria of Tomorrowland!đŸ€©đŸ„ł

From Dream to Reality: My Global Journey Review

Tomorrowland Express: Train Ride to Adventure!

My Global Journey to Tomorrowland started on 20th July at London St. Pancras station, and let me tell you, it was a rollercoaster of excitement and confusion.

I entered the train station with the swagger of a world-class traveller but suddenly I found myself lost in a labyrinth of platforms, ticket machines and signs. I swear, I felt about as lost as a sock in a dryer. Just when my panic was settling in, like guardian angels sent from the EDM heavens, I spotted them: the Global Journey representatives. They were holding signs ‘Global Journey’ bigger than my hopes and dreams. I approached them with a mix of relief and excitement.

They guided me to the Global Journey desk, where with the reverence of Indiana Jones, I collected my gift bag like it was a magical chest of wonders. Inside the bag, I discovered a physical invitation to the ‘Invited’ party for that evening( I also received this a few emails earlier on the email), Tomorrowland newspaper and a bracelet for the shuttles. In that moment I knew that my journey to Tomorrowland was off to an epic start.😍

Waiting at the station

I had a good two hours to kill before my departure, so I did what any responsible adventurer would do. I planted myself right next to the Global Journey desk, watching fellow Tomorrowland travellers collect their goodies and playing ‘Spot the other Solo Travellers’ game. Creepy? Maybe. 😃

As people collected their stuff, the air was buzzing with anticipation. You could practically taste the excitement! It was like a prelude to the world’s greatest party, and I was there to soak it all in!

Global Journey London with Tomorrowland flag
I saw some people taking pictures with a Tomorrowland flag. Feeling a bit wild, I asked them if they could take one of me too. They said yes!

I was so engaged in people-watching and daydreaming that 2 hours felt like 2 minutes. Before I knew it, the train’s departure was already flashing on the board! I gathered my stuff and headed towards the check-in gates, feeling like the main character in an epic adventure movie. The countdown was on! As I stood on the platform, I had no idea what to expect. Just as my imagination was running wild with possibilities, the train arrived.

The Journey Begins

As I stepped onto the board, I felt like I was about to enter a portal to another dimension. The excitement of the unknown hung in the air, like a tantalizing mystery waiting to be unravelled. As the doors closed behind me, I couldn’t help but wonder if I’d accidentally boarded the train to Narnia or Hogwarts instead of Brussels.😃

I found my allocated seat and discovered that the universe had gifted me the greatest treasure of all: an empty seat next to me! I felt like I’d won the lottery for introverts. 😍

The moment the wheels started turning, the speakers came alive, and the music echoed through the carriages! As soon as we set off, the DJ cranked up the volume, and the train transformed into a full-blown dance party on rails. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any wilder, laser lights came to life! Suddenly I found myself in a parallel universe where ordinary train rides turned into extraordinary dance parties! I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.

But hold on, the party didn’t stop there! This train had a bar. A real bar, serving up drinks that were like liquid courage. The magic elixir of extroversion (also known as beer) worked its spell. After a few minutes, I danced, chatted with fellow passengers, exchanged festival tips, swapped Instagrams and made a few new friends. I was so busy that I barely noticed how swiftly those two hours flew by.

It was like a mini pre-party, where everyone’s ticket was a golden pass to the most epic weekend of their lives. I loved every minute of it.

Arrival in Brussels

Finally, we rolled into Brussels. Just when I thought the adventure was over, I stumbled upon more Global Journey representatives.

These guys were like Tomorrowland’s secret agents. They were popping up everywhere, making sure we festival-goers were on the right track (literally)! It was like being welcomed by old friends in a new city. They directed me to yet another Global Journey desk, where queues were divided based on where you’d departed from.

I spotted some shuttles nearby, filled with people and their suitcases, and naturally assumed I’d be joining one of these buses to whisk me off to my hostel.

Global Journey counter in Brussels

Now, there were different queues depending on where you came from. And, of course, the London queue was the longest, but hey, we Londoners are used to queuing, right?😃

Instant Festival Vibes

This time waiting in line was anything but boring! While we stood there, we were treated to live music and dance performances. It was like the world’s quirkiest talent show right there outside of the train station. I have to say, Tomorrowland knows how to turn even the mundane moments into unforgettable experiences.

So, there we were, Londoners and travellers from all corners of the globe, grooving, laughing, and creating memories even before setting foot in Tomorrowland. It was a true testament to the spirit of the festival, where every moment is an opportunity to celebrate.

And then, when it was finally my turn at the desk, the Global Journey people informed me that my hostel was a mere 5-minute walk away. No shuttle needed. They also handed me another treasure bag with gifts inside.

I fired up Google Maps, embarked on my quest, and walked my way to the hostel. Along the way, I encountered fellow festival-goers, exchanged knowing smiles, and soaked in the vibrant energy of the city. It was like a mini-adventure within the grand adventure.

Room Revelations: Unveiling Tomorrowland’s Accommodation Experience

Arrival at Meininger Gare du Midi

I arrived at the Meininger Gare du Midi hostel with a mix of excitement and anxiety.

As soon as I walked in, there was another Global Journey representative with a big smile on his face ready to answer my weird questions. I bombarded him with all sorts of enquiries about the shuttles and dozens of ‘what if’ scenarios like what if I get lost or won’t find the shuttles after the festival.

Bless this Global Journey superhero! He answered every question with the patience of a saint and the wisdom of a festival Jedi! He told me that shuttle signs are so big, they can be seen from space. I got reassured that even in my wildest Tomorrowland dreams (and “what if” nightmares), the Global Journey team has got my back and I have nothing to worry about.

Talking with him was like having my very own human Siri, only way cooler because he didn’t make me listen to elevator music.đŸ€Ł In the end, his words wrapped around me like a warm, comforting blanket and he promised that my Tomorrowland adventure would be legendary.

Having all my questions answered, I confidently strolled over to the reception desk, smoothly checked in and collected my room card.

As I approached the elevator, I silently prayed to the festival gods, hoping that my future roommates wouldn’t turn out to be weirdos or a bunch of excessively hairy dudes.

First impression

As I stepped into the room, the air practically sparkled with a sense of cleanliness that would make even the most meticulous neat freaks jump for joy. I swear, I could have eaten off the floors (not that I would, at least not sober ). I’m not saying I’m a big cleanliness fanatic, but when you decide to pay this sort of money, you want a place that makes you feel like you’re not sleeping in a hamster cage from hell. This place? Spotless!

The Bed Dilemma: Top or Bottom Bunk?

But here’s the kicker: the beds aren’t allocated. Nope, it’s a free-for-all, and it’s all about the top bunk vs. bottom bunk showdown, a race to claim the ultimate sleeping throne. It’s like a real-life version of choosing the red pill or the blue pill, except with less Matrix and more cozy sleeping arrangements. Here comes the moment of truth. The decision that will shape your night’s destiny: top bunk or bottom bunk?đŸ€”

Now, I don’t know about you, but after a day of dancing like a maniac and a few too many drinks, the thought of ninja-ing my way up a ladder to the top bunk sounded like a recipe for disaster. I mean, have you ever tried to perform acrobatics after a festival? It’s like attempting to moonwalk on a tightrope: highly entertaining to watch, but potentially disastrous for the performer. 😆So, to my own surprise, I made the most rational choice of my life – the bottom bunk! A decision made not out of laziness, but pure survival instinct.

I lay there with the smug satisfaction of a genius. The bottom bunk will be my sanctuary, my castle of comfort for the next four nights.

Roomates and New friendships

But then, just as I was claiming my bed like a territorial cat, two other girls suddenly appeared in the room. Shortly after, another one showed up. I had a feeling I’d be navigating a sea of strangers in a mixed dormitory, but guess what? The universe must’ve sensed my anxious vibes because I hit the jackpot with an all-female dorm. Yesss! What’s even more amazing is that it was the first Tomorrowland for all of us, so we were on this adventure together. We were like wide-eyed kids in a candy store, only the candy was music, and the store was a massive festival.

And then there was this one girl – my introverted soul sister. It was like the universe conspired to put us in the same room. We bonded over our mutual love for wine and our impressive talent for discussing deep philosophical questions like, ‘How do we get tipsy at the cheapest cost?’. From that moment on, it was a match made in festival heaven.

We tackled Tomorrowland together, navigating through the colourful stages and dancing like nobody’s watching (because honestly, at Tomorrowland, nobody cares if you dance like you’re possessed).

Dorm setup

In the room, we had a genius bathroom setup that would make any efficiency expert proud. One room had the glorious shower, where you could unleash your inner diva and sing like your four roommates weren’t listening. Then, there’s a separate ensuite room with the toilet (the throne room, if you will). Last but not least, a sink with a mirror—but here’s the plot twist—it was OUTSIDE of both rooms! So, while someone was perfecting their shower karaoke, another could handle their business in private, and a third could attempt the impossible feat of eyeliner application in the mirror.

So, this hostel was pretty much my own little slice of heaven, except for two teeny-tiny quirks. Firstly, they had this official rule about NO alcohol. Yep, you heard me right, no adult grape juice allowed to make those hostel memories even more legendary! Cruel, just cruel.

And then, to add to the chaos, in total there were just TWO mirrors for five girls trying to look Instagram-ready at the same time. It was like a glamorous game of musical chairs, where the prize was snagging a few inches of mirror space! (I’ve seen less competition at a Black Friday saleđŸ€Ł) But hey, rules are rules, and we made it work, even if it meant synchronized mirror routines and creative makeup applications. Despite that, we still created memories that’ll last a lifetime, laughed until our cheeks hurt, and perfected the art of mastering mirror-sharing diplomacy.

Breakfast Buffet Heaven

The hostel offered a complimentary breakfast buffet that was a real game-changer. It was nothing short of breakfast heaven—a buffet spread fit for a hangover warrior. Picture it: an array of delicious options to start your day off right, from scrambled eggs to pastries and everything in between. So there I was, navigating the buffet with the grace of a newborn giraffe. It’s a strategic game – pile on the carbs, load up on electrolytes and let the coffee flow like a river of liquid energy. The buffet stays open till 10.30 but it was definitely worth waking up for. It wasn’t just the most important meal of the day but also the ultimate hangover remedy.😃

Festival Foreplay: The Invited party

So there I was, in Brussels on a Thursday, feeling the festival vibes in the air like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.

But wait, the universe had something special in store: an invitation to the pre-Tomorrowland party. A few weeks earlier, I received it by email and I also found a printed version nestled in the gift pack I picked up from the Global Journey desk in London. It was like a little taste of what was to come, a foreplay for the festival that promised to be epic. You know, like those trailers that give you a sneak peek of the blockbuster movie (only with more alcohol and EDM beats).

Transport issue

However, the challenge arose with transportation; there was none arranged from our hostel to the venue. The advice from the Global Journey representative was clear: it’s an hour’s walk, or we could opt for a taxi or Uber. After discussing it with the girls from the hostel, the three of us agreed to share an Uber. We waited a couple of minutes for our ride, and it cost us 14.60 euros to get there, which we obviously split between us.

A Blaze of Glory

The evening kicked off on a chill note, with just a handful of early birds milling around. It gave us the perfect opportunity to meander, striking up conversations with fellow festival-goers and vibing to the early sets. I met some of the most awesome souls at the party, majority of which were also first-timers like me!

But as the night crept in, the scene transformed dramatically. More and more people started to pour in, each wave bringing an escalating level of excitement and energy. And let me tell you—the DJs? They just kept getting better and better! Each set was better than the last, turning the vibe from “This is nice” to “I may never feel this alive again” in a matter of hours. The beats were infectious, the crowd was alive, and the air was thick with the euphoria.

By the peak of the night, the place was packed, the music was pounding, and every single person was lost in the rhythm. It was a melting pot of cultures, languages, and personalities, all united by our love for music and the magic of Tomorrowland. The energy was indescribable, a crescendo of beats, lights, and ecstatic faces, making it, without a doubt, the best night of my life (up to that point, anyway).

Money matters

Important! At Tomorrowland, forget about using cash or cards. Your festival bracelet is your ticket and wallet and you have to load it with money before buying anything at the festival.

However, at the pre-Tomorrowland party, things were a bit different. They had their own special coins for buying things. You couldn’t use these coins later at the actual Tomorrowland festival, though. So if you ended up with extra coins after the party, you couldn’t use them at Tomorrowland, which was a bit of a bummer for anyone trying to keep to a budget.

Anyway…the party was a blast, but the transportation situation? Well, that was a different story.

The Transport Saga continues

So there we were, post-party, a group of festival-goers who had boogied their hearts out, standing on the street corner like lost souls. Our festival high had faded, and the realization sunk in – we had to navigate our way back to the hostel in this slightly less-than-sober state. You see, there was no arranged transfer to get from the party to the hostel either. No festival shuttle, no magic carpet ride. It’s a classic case of “you’re on your own, my friend.”

So there I was, huddled with a group of new friends brainstorming our transportation solution. The plan? Uber it is.

Undeterred by the Ubers’ attempts to outwit us, we soldiered on. One after another, drivers were cancelling on us faster than a magician’s disappearing act. It was like a cosmic game of “catch me if you can,” and we were quickly realizing that catching a taxi back was going to be an adventure of its own.

Finally, on the 15th attempt (you read that right—fifteenth), we miraculously found an Uber driver brave enough to embark on what seemed like a rescue mission to get us back to our hostel.

Uber adventures

Victory dance, right? Well, not so fast.đŸ„Č We got a notification that our Uber had arrived, but according to Google Maps, it seemed our driver parked a 15-minute stroll away from our location. It was like he decided to take us on a guided tour of Brussels – on foot.

We tried calling him, but the calls wouldn’t go through. Even after sending messages through the Uber app, we received no response. Confused and slightly amused, we decided to embark on our own mini-adventure, traversing the streets like a group of festival explorers to find him. But first, we had to walk through some sketchy parts of Brussels at night, avoiding strange men and feeling pretty unsafe. It felt less like a quaint European adventure we hoped for and more like a scene from a thriller where the main character questions if they’ll make it to the next scene.

About twenty minutes later, we finally met our Uber driver, who was less than thrilled about our delay. We tried to explain that we had hailed the ride from another spot, but he wasn’t having any of it, insisting that he was at the closest Uber pick-up spot point allowed. Apologies flew as we tried to clarify the confusion, mentioning our lack of local knowledge and the absence of clear instructions from Uber. Despite the rocky start, climbing into the cab brought a mix of relief and giggles. We couldn’t help but feel victorious.

The ride back cost us 36.8 euros—a steep price compared to what we paid to get to the party but for the story and the sheer relief of making it back safely? Priceless.

Final Thoughts

It was hands down, the best night of my life—until, of course, the actual Tomorrowland festival proceeded to redefine my entire concept of fun. However, I’d kinda hoped the Global Journey package was an all-in-one deal, transport included. Despite this hiccup, the magic of the night was undeniable. So, with a mix of adventure and a dash of wanderlust, I’m giving this experience a solid 9/10 on the epic scale.

Shuttle Tales: The Good, the Bad, and the Hilarious

Journey to Paradise: Transfers from Accommodation to Tomorrowland

When it comes to navigating the journey from Brussels to the legendary Tomorrowland festival, the Global Journey package includes a shuttle service from your accommodation. The Global Journey representative in the hostel made it clear from the start: the shuttle departs once a day at 12:00 PM sharp. For someone like me, eager to dive headfirst into the festivities, this was perfect. My goal was to arrive at the festival grounds as early as possible each day to fully immerse myself in the experience.

However, for those looking to catch up on sleep after a night of festival revelry, the once-daily shuttle might be a limitation.

The Shuttle Squad Chronicles

At high noon, we’d all gather outside the hostel like a band of excited kids waiting for a field trip. We waited about 10 minutes for everyone to show up, which was a perfect chance to chat and make some last-minute new friends. It was like speed dating, but instead of searching for love, we were all in pursuit of the best festival buddies.

Then, our Global Journey rep would swoop in, list in hand and we were being checked off like items on a grocery list (but way more fun). It felt like being picked for the coolest team in school, ‘the Tomorrowland Shuttle Squad’. Name by name, we got the tick of approval, feeling a bit like VIPs getting checked into an exclusive club. Once we were assembled, it was time for the epic five-minute stroll to the shuttle stop. Not exactly a heroic journey, but it felt like we were embarking on a quest, each step taking us closer to the pulsating heart of Tomorrowland.

The coolest shuttle ride

Once we got to the shuttle stop, it felt like we were boarding the coolest school bus ever! Everyone was high on anticipation (and probably too much caffeine).

Here’s the twist, though: the journey from the heart of Brussels to the promised land of Tomorrowland takes a whole hour. Yes, you heard that right—an entire hour where the excitement just keeps on building. It’s like waiting for Christmas morning, except instead of presents, you get beats that can wake the dead.

Once our shuttle ride ended, we arrived in Boom. The shuttle left us only about a five-minute walk from Tomorrowland’s first security gate (out of three). Walking from the shuttle stop to the festival, we just followed the crowd, feeling like we were part of a huge, excited group all heading to the same amazing place.

What made it even more special was the people and kids from Boom who cheered us on from their windows and balconies. It felt like we were in a parade, with everyone waving and welcoming us to their town. It was a welcome that made you feel like you were returning home, even if you’d never been there before.

Ticket to Tomorrowland: Full Madness (Comfort) Pass

Today, we’re skipping the Tomorrowland review but don’t worry. I’ve got a whole post dedicated to that epic journey. (Just use your imagination and pretend the link is already here.😄)

The Exodus: From Festival Grounds Back to Accommodation

From Main Stage back to Exit Gates

If the thought of being stranded alone in the dark post-Tomorrowland sends shivers down your spine, you’re not alone. That was my top concern too—thank heavens for Global Journey and their meticulous planning.

Picture this: the final set on the main stage wraps up and you’re faced with the real final challenge: the journey back to reality. Suddenly, you’re part of a mass exodus, a sea of people all trying to navigate their way out.

Leaving the main stage Tomorrowland

The slow shuffle with thousands of other tired souls to the exit gates takes around 25 to 30 minutes. This is just the warm-up for what’s coming next.

Signs of Salvation

Once we reached the exit gates, the “Global Journey Shuttles” signs appeared. They were towering and unmissable, like a lighthouse guiding ships to shore. This was where paths split. One led to parking, another to trains, and the one I needed—the path to the Global Journey shuttles. The signs here were really huge, making it super easy to know which way to go, even if your brain was still dancing to the last set.😃

Plenty of Tomorrowland staff were around, too. They were ready to point you in the right direction or answer any questions you might have. It was reassuring to see them there, guiding us through this last part of the journey and making sure we didn’t get lost on our way to the shuttle area. With their help and the clear signs, finding our way to the shuttle area was straightforward, turning what could have been a confusing end to the night into a smooth exit strategy. But this was only the start of the trek that lay ahead.

The Long Walk

The shuttle stop was not in the same place as the drop-off, which was around 5 minutes away from the gates.

Apparently from the exit gates it takes another 30-40 minutes to walk to the shuttles. Just when you’re about to question all your life choices leading up to this moment, the Global Journey desk emerges from the darkness, an oasis offering the sweet nectar of life: free water to take with you for the next 40 minutes of trekking. Trust me, it’s like finding a desert spring after a day in the Sahara.

From Exit Gates towards Freedom (or bus station)
Tomorrowland Global Journey review

The path to the shuttles is illuminated, with signs that guide you through the darkness, ensuring that even the most directionally challenged among us can’t stray off course. At the same time, there were always lots of people walking together towards the same place, so it felt really safe.

And just when you think the night can’t get any more surreal, Tomorrowland throws in some live shows along the way.

Live shows on the way to the shuttles Tomorrowland Global Journey review

After completing the 40-minute walk from the festival exit to the shuttle area, which altogether took about an hour from the moment you’d leave the main stage, we arrived at a site resembling a well-organized bus station. There were different bays for various shuttles, each clearly marked and ready to take us back to Brussels.

The organization was impressive, with plenty of Tomorrowland staff on hand to assist. They were like festival fairy godparents, guiding each of us to our designated shuttle with the efficiency of air traffic controllers.

You just show them your Global Journey bracelet (turns out, the colors match your accommodation package ) and they point you to the right shuttle. These shuttles are super reliable, running every 20 minutes all night, ensuring no man, woman, or party animal will be left behind.

Navigating the Meininger Maze

Interestingly, the shuttle I was taking had three stops, at different accommodations named after each. A word of caution: with three stops all named “Meininger,” it was crucial to pay attention to avoid getting off at the wrong one. This caused a bit of confusion among some passengers, making it important to listen carefully (or keep checking on Google Maps) to ensure you disembarked at the correct stop.

On the hour-long ride back to Brussels, we had the perfect chance to spam our Instagram with all the epic stories from the night, update families we’ve survived another night of partying or just catch some sleep and recharge for the next round of fun. My destination was the last “Meininger” stop. The shuttle dropped us off at the same spot from where it had picked us up, making it a convenient five-minute walk back to the hostel.

Reflecting on the Journey

The total time spent leaving Tomorrowland, walking to the shuttle, and travelling back to Brussels was around two hours, meaning I usually got back to the hostel between 2-3 AM.

The entire experience felt a bit like a post-festival pilgrimage, except instead of seeking spiritual enlightenment, you’re just trying to make it back to your accommodation in one piece.😃

Looking back, the shuttle trek from Tomorrowland was a masterclass in organized chaos, brilliantly executed to ensure not a soul was left behind. Despite my initial fears, the experience was smooth, secure, and sprinkled with a bit of Tomorrowland magic. It was the perfect, albeit exhausting, end to a weekend of unparalleled joy, proving once again that Tomorrowland doesn’t just throw a party; it crafts an adventure.

The Final Hurdle

That said, every adventure has its hurdles. The 40-minute trek to the shuttle felt like a mini-marathon, testing the stamina of our dance-weary legs. And just when we thought we’d faced all the challenges Tomorrowland could throw at us, the final day threw us a curveball straight from the pages of a dramatic adventure novel. The skies decided to open up, treating us to a downpour that turned our path into a muddy slip-and-slide. With no shelter along the route, we were soaking wet within minutes and trudging through ankle-deep mud.

Tomorrowland review Global Journey way to the shuttles
RIP to my once-glorious festival footwear, lost to the mud pits of Tomorrowland’s final challenge.

Despite the soggy shoes and the unexpected mud bath, the whole experience was utterly worth it.

Gifts

So there I was, rolling back to the hostel at 3 am, and had to rise and shine by 9 AM for breakfast and the whole festival routine. Needless to say, there wasn’t a moment to spare for journaling or staging epic Jenga battles with my roommates.😃 However, I took them home and they’re like little reality checks, reminding me that Tomorrowland 2023 wasn’t just some wild dream fueled by too much EDM and imagination. It really happened!

3 Things I Loved The Most About Global Journey

Additional opportunities to bond with other people

As an introvert, I was a little nervous about the whole “making new friends” thing, but it turned out to be one of the best parts. Seriously, I’m usually the person who pretends to check their phone in awkward situations, but this time it was all different.

I mean, I don’t even like talking to strangers, but on Global Journey, it’s like you’re suddenly the most outgoing person in the world! Whether it was on the shuttles, in the hostels, or just standing in line for morning coffee, it’s like everyone is your instant festival friend, and you can’t help but get caught up in it.

The best part? There were no awkward small talks! Most of our conversations started with questions about our favourite DJs, the best sets from the previous day, and other music festival-related topics. From there, it was like we had known each other forever. Before I knew it, we were swapping festival stories, debating which stages had the best vibe, and even planning to meet up later to catch our favourite sets together. It was that easy! And trust me, there’s something about the shared anticipation of what’s to come that instantly breaks down any barriers.

And let me tell you, I wasn’t the only lone ranger out there! Nope, there were plenty of other solo travellers bravely taking on Tomorrowland with the Global Journey crew. From the seasoned ravers to the wide-eyed first-timers like me, everyone comes together united by a shared love for music and adventure.

So, if you thought Tomorrowland was the pinnacle of socializing, think again! With Global Journey, the possibilities for making connections are endless. The opportunity to meet people who share your passion for music, adventure and festivals is something you can’t put a price on.

Tomorrowland

2. Additional Parties. (Invited)

You know how they say the best things in life are free? Well, this wasn’t exactly free, but you got a whole extra day of Tomorrowland as part of the Global Journey package.

I’m telling you, these aren’t your typical warm-ups. They are full-blown parties in their own right, and you won’t want to miss it. It is like Tomorrowland’s way of testing your stamina before the real deal. It’s the perfect way to meet other Global Journey folks, bond over your favourite tracks, and get a taste of the Tomorrowland magic before the official festivities even begin.

Invited Tomorrowland

It was like the cherry on top of an already epic festival experience. By the end of it, you’re not just ready for Tomorrowland—you’ve already got enough stories to last a lifetime. If the pre-parties are this wild, you can only imagine what the main event holds.

So, if you’re wondering whether Global Journey is worth it, think about all the extra parties, surprises, and unforgettable moments that come with it.

3. Crafting an adventure and organisation

Let’s talk about the art of crafting an adventure—the unique twist that makes Global Journey more than just a way to get to Tomorrowland. I got the chance to experience Tomorrowland twice in 2023. Once with Global Journey, and once on my own. Now, both were epic, but let me tell you, the Global Journey experience was like starring in my own festival-themed Indiana Jones movie.

The moment I set foot on the train station in London, it was like stepping into the first chapter of an epic story. It felt like a treasure hunt, where each clue and surprise along the way led me closer to the ultimate prize: Tomorrowland. With every passing moment, the anticipation grew stronger, filling me with a sense of wonder and excitement. I couldn’t wait to see what awaited me at the end of this journey, knowing it would be the best time of my entire life.😍

And let’s not forget about the Global Journey crew—these folks were like festival gurus, guiding us through the darkness to the next step of the journey. Whether it was navigating the train station, finding my way to the shuttle, or checking into my hostel, there was always someone on hand to lend a helping hand and ensure a smooth experience.

I was lucky to attend Tomorrowland twice in 2023. The first time with the Global Journey package, and the second time on my own. While both times at Tomorrowland were incredible, the time with Global Journey had that extra sense of unfolding adventure and building anticipation. It’s like you’re not just going to a music festival—you’re embarking on an epic quest, with surprises and new friends waiting around every corner.

3 Things I Did NOT Like About Global Journey

Now, let’s dive into the flip side of the coin: the aspects of my Global Journey experience that didn’t quite hit the mark. While overall, it was an adventure of a lifetime, there were a few bumps along the road that I feel compelled to share.

Comfort ticket default

So, here’s the deal: with every Global Journey package comes the Full Madness Comfort Pass, granting you access to those exclusive, fancy areas that scream VIP treatment. In regular sale, this Full Madness Comfort Pass comes with a hefty price tag of €624, compared to the standard Full Madness Pass, which is more wallet-friendly and costs €365.

As someone who’s all about travelling on a budget and making every euro count, I couldn’t help but wish for a bit more customization when it came to my Tomorrowland ticket. Despite having access to those fancy, exclusive areas, I found myself gravitating more towards the regular zones. The real magic of Tomorrowland isn’t confined to the VIP sections—it’s everywhere you look, with non-stop excitement and unforgettable moments waiting around every corner. So, while the Full Madness Comfort Pass might seem like the ultimate upgrade, I couldn’t help but wish for the option to choose the more budget-friendly standard Full Madness Pass.

Trust me, there’s plenty of fun to be had in the regular areas, and saving a few euros along the way wouldn’t hurt either.

Shuttle situation

Firstly, if you miss the 12 o’clock shuttle, you’ll need to find alternative transportation on your own. While there are additional shuttles available later in the day, these require a separate ticket and often sell out quickly due to high demand. You could also take two trains (conveniently, the station was a three-minute zombie walk from my hostel), navigating the labyrinth of public transport with the boundless energy of someone who’s just emerged from a hibernation-level sleep, ready to conquer the world (or at least the train station). Or, if you’re feeling flush with cash (or just desperate), you can opt for a taxi.

Warning:

Taxis cost around 140 euros. đŸ˜± It’s the equivalent of buying a small gold mine or, you know, a very expensive pillow because that’s essentially what you’re choosing over the shuttle.😄 One of my roommates learned this the hard way on the second day and ended up paying the princely sum for her extra hours of beauty sleep.

Secondly, after the festival wraps up, you embark on what feels like an eternal journey back. A solid hour of walking to the bus station leaves you questioning whether you’ll ever see civilization again. After a night of dancing like there’s no tomorrow, this can feel like the world’s longest “walk of shame.”

Once there, you might find yourself waiting a bit as the shuttle slowly fills up with fellow festival-goers. Finally, after what feels like an eternity (but is actually closer to half an hour), the shuttle lurches into motion, and you’re on your way. But the adventure doesn’t end there! Oh no, my friend. You still have a one-hour-long ride back to Brussels. By the time you finally roll into your hostel, it’s usually well past the witching hour, somewhere between 2 and 3 in the morning.

Overall, while the shuttle service is convenient in some ways, the extended travel time and waiting periods can be a bit challenging to navigate after a full day of festival excitement.

But hey, what’s a festival without a few stories to tell?😁

Cancellation policy

Imagine this: You’ve just snagged your Global Journey Package, complete with all the bells and whistles. You’re practically vibrating with excitement, counting down the days until you can dance the night away at Tomorrowland. But then, disaster happens. You can’t go anymore.

You’ve already faced the heartbreak of not being able to attend Tomorrowland, and just when you think it can’t get any worse, another disaster unfolds. You’re practically on the brink of not getting your money back because:

  • 80% of total package price will be refunded if you cancel before February 19, 2024:
  • 50% of total package price will be refunded if you cancel before March 18, 2024
  • 30% of total package price will be refunded if you cancel before May 31, 2024

And if you dare to cancel after May 31, 2024, well, kiss that refund goodbye because you’re not getting a single cent back.

This is an example from 2024, but usually, the terms and dates are similar.

Commitment Issues: Plan like a Pro

With a cancellation policy like that, you really need to be 110% sure you’re ready to commit before hitting that “confirm” button. I’m talking about doing everything in your power to minimize any potential risk. First things first, get your PTO approved (if you’re working) well in advance. You don’t want to be stuck in a situation where you’ve got the tickets but your boss won’t let you go, right? And let’s not forget about checking those Belgian visa requirements if you’re not an EU citizen and making sure your passport is ready to go. Also, double or even triple-check your calendar to ensure you’re free on those dates.  After all, you don’t want to find yourself in the unenviable position of forfeiting your hard-earned cash just because you didn’t do your due diligence beforehand.

Since the end of January till the end of April, forums and Facebook groups were flooded with posts from people trying to resell their Global Journey packages. It seems like a lot of people’s plans for the festival have changed, and they’re looking for a way out to get back some of their money. Even though the official rules say you can’t resell, many are still desperate to find a solution.

The Name Change Loophole

There is another, lesser-known policy that could potentially change the game. It says that for a fee of €350 per name change, the Main Buyer of the package has the option to transfer it to another individual. This means that if someone can’t make it to the festival, they can pass on (aka. sell) their package to someone else who can attend. The deadline for making this switch is by the end of April.

While €350 might sound like a lot, in most cases, it’s way less than what you’d lose if you just cancelled everything. So, if you’re trying to say goodbye to your Tomorrowland tickets and save some cash, it’s a smart move to take this route.

Be aware of Scammers

However, if you’re thinking of buying a Global Journey package from someone else—BE CAREFUL. It’s easy to get scammed, especially online. Personally, I wouldn’t send money unless I knew the person well. Many people feel the same way, so it’s tough to sell these packages. But hey, some lucky ones, like one of my hostel roomies, managed to snag a package from someone she knew from school.

Still, keep your guard up and think twice before trusting someone you don’t know well online.

Was Global Journey Worth It?

I’ll be completely honest with you—I panicked. I bought my Global Journey in February but as the dates were getting closer I was getting nervous. Scared, even! The thought of navigating the festival grounds solo had me second-guessing everything and I considered backing out more times than I’d care to admit! Yes, I, the brave solo female traveller, I was terrified of becoming a weird girl dancing alone in the corner. But then I remembered one crucial detail: those cancellation fees were no joke. Seriously, they could probably fund a small country’s GDP!

So, I took a deep breath and with a mix of determination and a healthy dose of “what the heck, let’s do this,” decided to dive headfirst into the adventure.

It turned out to be the best decision I ever made! Suddenly, I was surrounded by the kind of people who made me forget the word “alone” even existed. As I mentioned before, the true magic of Tomorrowland isn’t just in the music and lights—it’s found in the amazing people you meet along the way.

If I had to rate it I’d give it a solid 9/10.

Despite the trials and tribulations like the nail-biting wait for tickets and the limited shuttle options, I’d still hand out Tomorrowland flyers on street corners if it meant I could experience it all over again. It’s like that roller coaster ride you queue up for hours just to scream your lungs out for a few fleeting minutes.😃 Totally worth it!

When you’re grooving to the beats, surrounded by amazing people, all those moments of frustration and the occasional existential crisis just fade away into the background. So yeah, it had its moments, but in the end, it was a journey I wouldn’t trade for the world. Having the ticket guaranteed and knowing that you have a spot reserved in the midst of one of the world’s greatest music festivals is an unparalleled feeling.

Some might say I spent a small fortune (thanks, Mum), but honestly, every single penny was worth it. Global Journey makes your festival experience so unforgettable, that you’ll be reminiscing about it even when you’re old and grey (but still rocking, obviously).

Sure, it comes with a hefty price tag but consider it an investment in memories that’ll last longer than your favourite pair of rave shoes.( again, RIP)

What Would I Do Differently?

My first time with Global Journey was quite the adventure, but I’ll admit, I made a few rookie mistakes along the way. There are definitely a few tweaks I’d make for next time:

Weather Warrior Prep:

Belgian weather can be as unpredictable as your taste in music. Tomorrowland, however, seems to have its own little weather ecosystem đŸŒ§ïžđŸ€Ł. Despite not staying in a campsite, I quickly learned that being prepared for all weather conditions is essential. So, next time, I’m coming armed with a festival survival kit that could rival Bear Grylls’. I’ll take gear for both sunshine and rain ready to tackle whatever Mother Nature throws my way. Sunshine? Check. Rain? Double-check. Snow? Well, you never know.đŸ€Ł

Early Bird Regrets:

Living outside London meant an ungodly 5 AM wake-up to get to London and catch my chosen train. Having no sleep during the day, by the end of the Invited party that evening I was almost half-dead. Next time I’d definitely aim to arrive a day earlier. This way I could take part in the Belgian Journey and have an extra day to rest up before the madness starts.

Create a DJ hit-list:

Amidst the sensory overload of Tomorrowland, I found myself swept up in the excitement without a clear plan of action. While spontaneity has its charm, I realized that having a list of must-see DJs would have helped me make the most of my time at the festival. As much as I was amazed by everything, I definitely missed out on a few sets I would’ve loved to catch. Lesson learned: next time, I’ll curate a lineup of favourite artists I want to see.

Mind Your Festival Finances:

Ah, the joys of festival economics. Drinks cost a fortune and budgeting becomes an extreme sport. Who knew a plastic cup of lukewarm beer could cost as much as a down payment on a car?  Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating, but let’s just say Tomorrowland isn’t exactly the place to go bargain-hunting. And don’t even get me started on the alcohol-to-price ratio! Let’s just say it’s not exactly in your favour.đŸ„Č So, next time, I’ll be sure to arrive properly pre-tipsy ensuring I maintain a festive state without draining my wallet.

You can read more about drink prices at Tomorrowland in my other post: [Link]

Accommodation Angles:

Last but not least, the 2h journey back to reality( aka. Brussels) felt like an eternity and left me questioning my life choices. Next time, I might choose accommodation in Antwerp. Being closer to Tomorrowland could cut that travel time in half. However, staying in Antwerp might mean missing out on the “Invited” party which I don’t think I could sacrifice for anything. Oh well… decisions, decisions!

So, there you have it—my top five reflections on my Global Journey experience. Whether you’re a festival newbie or a pro, I hope these insights help you plan your own epic adventure! I’m already counting down the days until I can do it all over again. This time armed with a better plan and a fully pre-gamed liver!😃

Is Global Journey For You?

Well, let me break it down for you. If you’re living it up in Europe and you’ve been daydreaming about Tomorrowland since the dawn of time, then my friend, it’s a resounding “hell yes” from me!

Tomorrowland meme

Trust me, securing your golden ticket is like winning the lottery of partying. It’s like the festival gods are rolling out the red carpet just for you!

And let’s not forget the grand entrance that Global Journey provides. From the second you set foot on that platform (whether it’s an airport terminal or train/bus station), you’re swept away into a world of anticipation, excitement, and enough festival vibes to power a small country.

The journey is just as unforgettable as the destination, and the memories you’ll make along the way will last a lifetime.

However, if you’re thinking about taking the Global Journey from the USA, Canada, Australia or anywhere with a flight over 6 hours… Think again. Are you willing to spend all that money just to get a weekend in Europe? Sure, it sounds cool to say “I flew in for the party,” but your wallet (and your body clock) might not be as thrilled when you’re flying in from halfway around the world.

Here’s a better game plan!

Fly to Europe a few days or even a week before Tomorrowland! It’s not just about beating jet lag (which is a big plus), but also about giving yourself a mini European vacation before the main event. You can explore cities, enjoy some local cuisine, and let your body clock adjust to the rhythm of the party continent. It’s like stretching before the big race.

Then, hop on a Global Journey from one of Europe’s dazzling cities. You’ll not only save some cash but also get to soak in a bit more of that European charm.

And about getting to Europe on the cheap? Check out this post about cheap flights – link

Alternatively, you can entirely skip the transport option, get to Brussels on your own and get the hotel package.

Dreaming of Tomorrowland but your bank account’s giving you the side-eye? No worries! You don’t need to sell your soul for a Global Journey package. There’s more than one way to get to the party. 😎

Tomorrowland 2023 – part 2

Now, my own experience might give you a bit of inspiration and proof that this isn’t just theory. After experiencing the magic of Tomorrowland, I wanted to go back for the 2nd weekend so bad I could taste it. The catch? I was doing it without the cushion of the Global Journey package and with a wallet that was far from bottomless.

And guess what? I managed! I went to Tomorrowland a week later without selling any vital organs on the black market.đŸ€Ł With a bit of help from friends, a dash of luck, and lots of Googling, you can make anything work!

Tomorrowland 2023

Despite the financial and logistical gymnastics, it was an incredible experience. It showed me that Tomorrowland isn’t just for those who can afford the premium path.

I was able to soak in all the festival had to offer. And I did it for a fraction of the cost of Global Journey! And the best part? I documented the whole process for you.😎

For those curious about how to organize a trip to Tomorrowland on a budget, including tips on flights, accommodation, and making the most out of the festival experience, check out my other post. It’s like a treasure map but for dodging high prices and still having the time of your life at Tomorrowland.

Will I Buy Global Journey Again?

I think once you experience the magic of Tomorrowland, you desperately want to go back at all costs. You’re ready to sacrifice your firstborn ( the only time I ever regret not having kids) or engage in arcane rituals to get a ticket. In fact, I was all set to dive back into the Global Journey experience in 2024. This time I wanted to spice things up with a different accommodation option for the ultimate comparison. And, of course, to share my findings with you.😁

But, surprise surprise, the universe had other plans for me!

You see, there’s this ultra-exclusive link that the first 20 people from each country who pre-register for Tomorrowland get. It gives them early access to ticket sales (as early as December). It’s literally like winning the lottery but with more epic music. And guess who was chosen by the festival Gods and got one of those special links? (cue the dramatic drum music)

Well, not me. Haha.

But wait for it—a plot twist is coming!

Ever since I got back from Tomorrowland, I’ve been talking about it non-stop. Seriously, I’ve been like a broken record, blabbering on about the epic sets, the crazy vibes, and the unforgettable moments to literally anyone who would listen. And you know what? My enthusiasm was contagious! ( and probably slightly annoying too 😆). Suddenly, everyone and their grandmother wanted to join in on the madness next year, including my work buddies. Once the pre-registration for Tomorrowland 2024 kicked off, we didn’t waste a second! We all jumped at the chance, not really expecting much luck. (after all, the odds of being among the first 20 are extremely low)

Lithuanian Luck: My EDM Savior

However, just to give you some idea, my workplace is like a mini United Nations. 😃 We’ve got people from every corner of the globe clocking in for their 9-to-5 grind.

Somehow, one of my Lithuanian friends hit the jackpot!

First 20 Sale Tomorrowland

And since she could buy up to four tickets, she offered to buy me one too. Now, I know it sounds cheesy, but Lithuania has officially climbed to the top of my favourite countries list.

So, here’s to my Lithuanian hero, my EDM saviour, and the newest addition to my list of favourite nations.

Long live Lithuania, the land of EDM angels and festival dreams!

The Plan: Magnificent Greens 2p Tent Deal

Confirmation ticket Tomorrowland

We’ve decided on the Magnificent Greens 2p Tent deal, which includes all the camping gear we need! I’ll be taking notes on every wild moment to share with you in another Tomorrowland review when I’m back. In the meantime, I’ll be reporting it all on my Instagram. So buckle up, hit that follow button, and let’s embark on this wild ride together: LINK

And if I hadn’t scored that golden ticket (or amazing work friend), Global Journey would still be my go-to choice.

Cheers to the adventure! (And Lithuania, obviously)

Hello!

My name is Kinga đŸ‘‹đŸ» I’m 30 years old, originally from Poland.

I studied tourism and worked in a travel agency, which means I know exactly how airlines price tickets, when to book for maximum savings, and all the “insider secrets” they hope you never figure out.

I used these tricks to travel 1-2 times every month while working a normal corporate job in the UK. (My coworkers thought I had rich parents or a sugar daddy😂)

Then in November 2024, I quit everything to travel full-time. I’ve been doing this for over a year now and I’ve tested every hack, made every mistake, learned what works and what’s total BS.
